Garbage Services

The City of Earlville has contracted with Republic Services for residential garbage & recycling service. The rate is made up of two parts, the fee for collection of garbage & recycling and a recycling processing charge. The collection rate has been set for each of the seven years of the contract. The recycling processing charge is evaluated on an annual basis and adjusted accordingly. The collection rates for each of the 7 years of the contract are:

     7/1/2022   $15.03 + .17 (recycling processing charge)

TRASH SERVICE

  • Republic Services will supply a 95 gallon toter to each resident; additional toters can be rented for $3.25 per month.
  • They will pick up trash and one bulk item every week. NOTE: Call 815-434-2035 at least one day prior to pick up day if you have a bulk item.

 

RECYCLING SERIVCE

  • Republic Services will supply a 95 gallon toter to each resident; additional toters can be rented for $3.25 per month.
  • Recycling will be serviced every other week.

BULK ITEMS

  • Furniture and other similar items with weights and/or volumes greater that those allowed for the waste container supplied. Resident is allowed 1 bulk item per week when set at curbside. You need to call 815-434-2035 at least one day prior to the pick up day when you have a bulk item. 
  • No appliances of any kind are allowed. 

 

YARD WASTE SERVICE

The City of Earlville will provide yard waste pick up services according to the following guidelines:

  • Grass clippings, leaves, and other small yard waste items must be in a recyclable bag or some type of container (such  as an old garbage can) that can be picked up and dumped into the loader or back of truck. Loose items will not be picked up.
  • Items not able to fit in containers or bags must be cut into sections big enough for skid steer forks to pick up. Debris should be cut into sections that are a minimum of 3 feet and a maximum of 8 feet.
  • Pick up dates will be determined by the Public Works Department. Pick up will occur as time permits.
  • If you have a large amount of debris you would like picked up, and it is not from storm damage, you need to call to inquire about pick up. Please call 815-246-9421 and leave a message.
  • The City will not be responsible for hauling away whole trees that have been cut down.
  • The City will announce dates for fall leaf vacuum pick up. During this time, LEAVES ONLY will not need to be in containers. Piles of leaves must be placed at the berm, as done in the past years.
