NOTICE: Change in Garbage Collection Service Provider

We would like to inform you that, effective August 1st, the City of Earlville will transition its garbage collection services from Republic Services to Northern Illinois Disposal.

Please take note of the following important dates from Republic Services:

  • Final Recycling Pickup: July 24thOn this day, please leave your recycling carts at the curb after collection, as they will be removed by Republic Services.
  • Final Garbage Pickup: July 31stAfter your last garbage collection, please leave your garbage totes at the curb for removal.

From Northern Illinois Disposal: Information about garbage service, including pickup schedules and requests for additional toters will be tagged on the new cans when they are delivered the week of:   JULY 27th

From the City of Earlville: We will no longer distribute door notices for updates, announcements, boil orders, or disconnections.

We will only be communicating using CodeRed moving forward.

Earlville Community Historical Society Contest
The Earlville Community Historical Society is sponsoring a 2026 Christmas Art in the Park Contest.
Participants are invited to create festive Christmas artwork for display in Earlville’s downtown Dodge Park during the holiday season.
Eligibility
• Participants must live in the City of Earlville, have grown up in Earlville, or be the child or grandchild of an Earlville resident.
• Participants can be an individual, club or a group.
Artwork Requirements
• Use the 8 x 4 plywood board and weather protection provided by ECHS.
• Create either a painted Christmas scene or a painted cut-out using the standard board.
• Embellishments or Advertisements are not allowed unless approved by the committee in advance.
• If you have a pattern that needs to be cut, we can do that for you.
Important Dates
• Entries open: August 15, 2026, all participants must submit an entry form to be eligible.
• Completed artwork due at the Historical Museum: by November 14, 2026.
• Judging will be before Earlville’s Christmas Fest and prizes will be awarded at Earlville’s Christmas Fest in the park December 5th.
Prizes and Display
Prizes awarded will be: $400.00 1st Place, $200.00 2nd place, $100.00 3rd place.
All entries become the property of the Earlville Community Historical Society Museum and will be displayed in Earlville’s Dodge Park during the holidays.
